Great NEWS! Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will attend husband Mark Kelly's space shuttle launch in Florida on Friday.

Giffords was one of 13 individuals wounded on January 8, 2011 during her "Congress on your Corner" outside a local Safeway in Tucson, Arizona. Six individuals died that day in this terrible shooting. The FUSION Foundation responded with a program called Healing Trees as a on ongoing life giving memorial to those who died, an opportunity to unite the community and to offer remembrance for all who have suffered from community violence.

Kelly will be commanding a crew of four other Americans and one astronaut from the European Space Agency. Liftoff is scheduled for 3:47 p.m. ET Friday.

According to CNN via a senior administration official, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama and their daughters Malia and Sasha also will watch the launch in person.
